Re: converting bmp to grayscale png

We inspected the image. It claims a file size of 1078 bytes whereas its actually 385558 and results in a warning exception.

Re: Montage seems slow

ImageMagick allocates a number of your images in memory until memory is exhausted and then places the rest on your SSD. Since memory is nearly exhausted, subsequent memory request likely spikes swapping to disk. Instead, push all images to SSD, reducing swapping. Assume your SSD is f:/tmp, try this ...

Re: Have things gotten worse?

Are you using ImageMagick version 7? If so, by default, HDRI is enabled. HDRI is 32-bit float pixels. Disable HDRI and memory requirements are halved. With HDRI enabled, it took several minutes to resize your image to 10% its original size. With HDRI disabled, it took less than 7 seconds. For this i...

Re: IM6: SIGSEV in ProfileImage

The fault is likely in ImageMagick unless the PHP binding is passing a faulty profile blob to ImageMagick. The only way to know for sure is to reproduce the issue. Can you post a link to one of the images that fail, and a minimal PHP script that consistently fails. Once we can reproduce the problem,...

Thanks for the problem report. We can reproduce it and will have a patch to fix it in GIT master branch @ https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick later today. The patch will be available in the beta releases of ImageMagick @ https://www.imagemagick.org/download/beta/ by sometime tomorrow.

Re: Can't remove ICC profile when writing miff files

MIFF and MPC image formats are designed to persist image properties and artifacts so they can be faithfully restored when the image is reread in an image pipeline. Other formats may not support certain image properties such as those in the ICC namespace or if the format specification permit tagged f...

Re: Can't remove ICC profile when writing miff files

The ICC profile is removed, however, the ICC properties remain because you did not explicitly delete them. Try this instead:

Code: Select all

magick xc: -profile sRGB.icc +profile "*" +set "icc:copyright" +set "icc:description" x.miff

Re: Really large images...

ImageMagick can read, process, or write mega-, giga-, or tera-pixel image sizes. See https://imagemagick.org/script/architecture.php#tera-pixel. That of course does not mean you could then host the entire image in memory with Magick.NET. To avoid exceeding memory limits, you could downsize the image...
