Re: Creating half-color anaglyph?

The developer of Imagen3D shared his secret (see http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/53733906): ... When I load an anaglyph image, in the adjust mode, the program gets two images (left and right) equal to the original image. Therefore, when I use the Channel Mixer function, then program applies the ...

Re: Creating half-color anaglyph?

I'll try to contact the developer. Anyway, thanks for trying to help me.

Oleg.

Re: Creating half-color anaglyph?

Thanks, Fred. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'm taking immediate 3d color anaglyphs in a single shot by a single lens. This method was patented in 1973, and a lens named QDOS has been produced a while ago. You just glue a color filter to the back of the lens to emulate it - one half covered by red, a...

Re: Creating half-color anaglyph?

Well, neither of your suggestions matches their result, and their's makes more sense. Maybe they "reduced" only the red channel? If you separate the image into the three colors, what is the appropriate Imagemagick command to "reduce" each channel individually? I already learned t...

Re: Creating half-color anaglyph?

Thanks for your effort, Fred.
Still it's interesting to understand what the hack that Imagen3D is doing when presented with full-color anaglyph as the input.

Re: Creating half-color anaglyph?

Here is a screenshot from my computer while processing an anaglyph original: http://www.lazyconv.com/galleries/DEMO/HCA/Imagen3D_HCA.jpg A single filename in the top-left corner proves the original is not a stereopair. Besides, I've got no reason to confuse you :). Of course, one can separate the or...

Re: Creating half-color anaglyph?

These images are anaglyphs obtained with a DIY variation of QDOS lens. They show less depth, but have a bonus of being suitable for both 2d and 3d viewing. And I did convert them to half-color using that (terribly misbehaving) Imagen application. Had to revert to Imagen because the more popular Ster...

Re: Creating half-color anaglyph?

Thanks, you always come to rescue :)!
I uploaded three pairs here:
http://www.lazyconv.com/galleries/DEMO/HCA/
The half-color versions have _HCA name suffixes.

The idea of half-color anaglyph is to reduce eye pain by desaturating problematic colors, mostly red.

Oleg.

Creating half-color anaglyph?

Is is possible to convert a full-color anaglyph into half-color anaglyph using only imagemagick?
The meaning of the conversion is roughly explained by the following screenshot of Imagen application here:

Re: Gradient desaturation?

With your f.png, I can't see any banding on my usual screen. On another screen (a large TV), I can. I assume this is a quantisation effect, either in the TV or in how my computer translates the signal for the TV. Displays may only use 8-bit samples. 43% to 57% is 14%, and 14% of 255 is 34. Do you s...

Re: Gradient desaturation?

[quote="snibgo"]I don't understand what you need, but you might be able to work it out from this. Thanks! What you do is create the correction image artificially; sounds attractive. But my original problem is still there. Look at the output from your script. Green on the left side is overs...

Re: Gradient desaturation?

Thanks for the interest and for trying to help me! So, here are the files (all these were 16-bit TIFFs converted to JPEG). I'm trying single-lens-3D technique; you can take a look at my older thread (http://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23930) for some background. The ...
