Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

@Bonzo You're right, things can easily get out of control and end up in a mess. But I have the strong idea to let the user-interface just be as it is, and set the defaults as reasonable as possible. Additional options shall only be accessible by an "Advanced" button or so. I want this to s...

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

This is a typical batch-processing concept. I made my tool for a forum to process about 1300 beamshots of torchlights (page down and you will see them). Was easy on linux and basically a commandline job. Having done so, the maker of the list needed a tool to do this in the future in charges of a doz...

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

Thank you for the feedback! The watermark is a thing to improve, right. Maybe I'll provide an extra setting "light/medium/strong" in the app in another update. And I am thinking about a multi-language version, but this is a diligence matter ... ;-) Another extra could be a choice to sharpe...

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

Nice explanation, hope I'll remember it.

My tool is ready. You can download it here, runs under Linux and Windows (win 7 tested). Handbook included though completely in German. But should be a big deal to understand. Start that thing and look - if you want. :-)

Greets,
Edgar

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

IT WORKS!

You're the MagickMaster !! :-)

I'll be back as soon as my tool is 'ready for rollout' !

PS: I must admit, that I only understood part of what you've done. But anyway, I've got a little more understanding than I had before. Thank you, this was great help!

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

Under Linux: 6.9.7-4
Under Windows: 7.0.7-22

These are different, even in the major version number. I'd like, however, to have this independant. Should be feasable: I consider imageMagick a professional tool which can yield consistenst results.

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

Yes, that's what I meant: I have posted the Linux-Grammar. Under Windows, there are no such backslashes.

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

I have a small problem with the watermark generation. Under linux, evrything is fine, see picture here . Under windows, the watermark has a somewhat brighter background, see picture here . In both cases, I used the same command (linux grammar below which needs a quote before the emphasis): convert i...

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

I am getting ahead with my little project here. It is a small java program which - reads jpg-images from an inout-directory and for each jpg found -- displays a preview -- allows to write a caption or take over the previous one -- allows to define a width or takes over the previous one -- and writes...

Re: workflow: resize, watermark, caption

@GeeMack this is VERY advanced. I will tinker with that in the next days. And if I understand it, I will put it in my secret "box of magic". This imageMagick thing is indeed a real power-tool, and that's why it sometimes causes quite some headache: There is no "one and single" wa...
