Re: Crop sprites for minimal spritesheet size

I still do not understand your issue. Do you want the montage to be 8x8 without specifying other than 8x. This works fine for me in IM 7.0.7.21 Q16 Mac OSX. Perhaps you need to upgrade IM. magick montage "test/sprite1.png" -duplicate 63 -trim +repage -geometry +0+0 -tile 8x -background none spritesh...

Re: Not using all available resources

Your memory limitation from Imagemagick is about 16GB. You can edit your policy.xml file to increase the IM Memory limitation. see https://www.imagemagick.org/script/resources.php What do you get from identify -verbose your.svg and what density are you trying to use. Perhaps the rasterized SVG file ...

Re: Crop sprites for minimal spritesheet size

Sorry, I do not understand the question. How are you getting an image that is too large? What was your command? If I take your one sprite and duplicated two more times and run magick montage "test/*.png" -geometry +0+0 -tile 3x -background none spritesheet_3x_128.png I get a resulting image that is ...

The one from Imagemagick will be around. The other is not from Imagemagick, so I do not know how long it will be around.

Re: How feasible is it by using ImageMagick to extract the town/city name of the place from the exif data(GPS informatio

Your image has no EXIF (or GPS) meta data containing the city. I do not think GPS reports city, only latitude/longitude. It also does not use IPTC Meta data. The IPTC data is the one that contains city information. So you would need to save IPTC from your camera. I am not a photographer, so I cannot...

Re: Is it possible to access in a Image Stack (parentheses) the dimensions of an image outside of the Image Stack?

This only works in IM 7. The resize argument in IM 6 can only come from a predetermined variable as you did above and not from an in-line -set option:xxx. magick pic.png -set option:dim "%wx%h" \( top.png -rotate 35 -gravity center -resize "%[dim]" \) -compose over -composite -density 300 "result.jp...

Re: Adding transparent border to png images

Please always provide your IM version and platform, since syntax may differ. In IM 6, you can do that for all images in a given directory using mogrify. Best to create a new directory to hold the output in case of mistakes before using mogrify. It will not create directories. cd to current_directory...

Re: extract hex code and append to file name

Alternately, if you do not want to read and write the file and just change the name, then if using Unix (Linux, Mac OSX, etc), you can use Imagemagick to find the old name and create a new name. Then use the OS to rename the file. In unix, that is the mv command. oldfile="dt_black.gif" newfile=`conv...

Re: extract hex code and append to file name

It can be done it either IM 6 or IM 7. Please always provide your IM version and platform! %[hex:...] requires IM 6.9.8.9 or higher or IM 7.0.5-10 or higher. Alternately, for older systems, one has to extract the hex color using a second line of code from txt: listing to the terminal into a variable...

Re: Create missing thumbnails within a folder tree

Probably use -verbose (or -debug all) in your command line to see what is going on. For resources, edit your IM policy.xml file. To see resources use

Code: Select all

convert -list resource

Re: Check if an image has an alpha channel with IMv7

Actually I was only thinking about external image formats. But point taken. Nevertheless, OHTA is rather strange (as would be YCbCr), since there are only 3 channels (without alpha), but OHTA lists 4 letters (YCbCr lists 5 letters, but only has 3 channels). Even sRGB lists 4 letters for 3 channels. ...

Re: Check if an image has an alpha channel with IMv7

Another way would be simply to check the verbose information for the file to find if it lists "Alpha" magick rose: -verbose info: | grep "Alpha" returns nothing. magick rose: -alpha set -verbose info: | grep "Alpha" Type: TrueColorAlpha Alpha: 1-bit Alpha: Likewise with magick identify -verbose your...
