Re: help about white-threshold

try this: convert image.jpg -fuzz 10% -fill white -opaque "rgb(220,200,160)" result.jpg If on Windows in bat file, then double the % to %%. Adjust the rgb color to better match the region you want to change to white and/or adjust the fuzz value. See https://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/color_basics/#re...

Re: Reporting CMYK values

You have to use the actual name of your image file. I just put "image" for a generic image. What is the name of your image file? You also need to either change directories to the directory holding your image file or add the path to image file from where you are running the command. So into what dire...

Re: Reporting CMYK values

Imagemagick is a command line tool and does not generally have a GUI. So you open a terminal window and type commands. For the upper left 10x10 region, try magick image[10x10+0+0] -colorspace CMYK txt:- > file.txt This will give more information, but the last column will be CMYK in the range 0-255. ...

Re: TIFF format change

Proper IM 6 syntax would be to read the input first. Try this:

Code: Select all

convert .\testimage.bmp -compress None -type Palette -define tiff:rows-per-strip=2 .\testimage.tif
Does that work?

Re: How to create a group4 compressed tiff with tiff:photometric: min-is-black?

I can confirm the same in IM 6.9.10.8 Q16 Mac OSX Sierra. Could be a bug.

New -range-threshold function in IM 7

As of IM 7.0.8.10, there is a new function: -range-threshold low-black,low-white,high-white,high-black Perform either hard or soft thresholding within some range of values in an image. Values may be expressed in quantumrange or percents and should be monotonically increasing, but can have same value...

Re: (ubuntu16.04)How to build imagemagick with libpng support?

I cannot answer your question as I do not use Linux. But this may be of help. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1042436 ... gick-7-0-7

Does

Code: Select all

convert -version
list PNG. If not then libpng was not properly installed.

Re: TIFF format change

Please clarify which files are which. Which one is good and which one is bad? At first Imagemagick could not read your second file with .convert.tif. It objected to the word "convert" in the name with periods. 201801170921_MSG3_GEOTIFFTEST2.tif.convert.tif So I change it to 201801170921_MSG3_GEOTIFF...

Re: Lightroom color adjustment to imagemagick command line

Unfortunately, Lightroom is proprietary code. We do not know exactly what they do. It would take quit a bit of time for anyone to try to guess at what they do and make tests with different Imagemagick functions varying the arguments to to see if it can be matched. Apart from the sharpness issue, you...

Re: Copy EXIF, IPTC and XMP metadata from one JPEGfile to another

Let me clarify my comments. Imagemagick will copy exif data from an input to an output. I know of no universal way that allow imagemagick to transfer appropriate exif data from one image to some other arbitrary image. I will defer to the developers for a definitive response.

Re: PNG to JPEG: how is background color determined?

P.S. the background color in identify -verbose may be totally unrelated to what I have described above. I am not sure what the identify -verbose background color actually means. One of the developers or other users would have to comment with more definitive information.

Re: PNG to JPEG: how is background color determined?

Your link to the post is not accessible. So I cannot look at it. It may be that typically the background color under transparent regions is black and when you save to JPG it will show black. But if you use -background white -alpha background and save to JPG, that should create a white background. Th...
