Re: Removing a shadow from an image

No, I have never had much success in these situations. If the shoes are a different color from the shadow and the background is white, then you have a chance. But not with either near black or near white shoes.

Re: Removing a shadow from an image

Shadows are particularly hard to remove as per isolating the objects from the background. I am not sure there is any good way to do that in Imagemagick when the shadow color is close to the object color. I will defer to anyone with a good suggestion. You could try one of tools such as clipping magic...

Re: extracting biggest square from a rotated image

GeeMack, I think you are assuming he knows the rotation angle and is starting with a normally oriented image and rotating it. I am assuming that was only and example an that he has some image with an unknown rotation angle and wants basically an inner crop. I think the OP will need to clarify this s...

Re: extracting biggest square from a rotated image

My script is at my link in my signature below. Be sure to read the Pointers for Use on the home page. The script needs to threshold the image to get a good square or rectangle separated from the background in order to work. It does not work on arbitrary shapes.

Re: Copy EXIF, IPTC and XMP metadata from one JPEGfile to another

Imagemagick does not write meta data. You have found one method that gets around that, but it also the limitations that you also have found.

I do not know if Magick.NET has any special code for that as I do not use it.

I would recommend you use EXIFTOOL to do your meta data copying.

Re: resurrecting gigapixel image from 256px jpgs - "unable to open pixel cache" and "too many files open"

All but these first 3 are commented out <policy domain="delegate" rights="none" pattern="*" /> <policy domain="coder" rights="none" pattern="*" /> <policy domain="coder" rights="read|write" pattern="{GIF,JPEG,PNG,WEBP}" /> The default values show up for some of the others by convert -list resource

Re: resurrecting gigapixel image from 256px jpgs - "unable to open pixel cache" and "too many files open"

You do have jpeg and tiff listed for delegates. So that aspect is a non-issue. Sorry, I do not know the width limits of TIFF. But there may be width limits in your policy.xml file.

Re: resurrecting gigapixel image from 256px jpgs - "unable to open pixel cache" and "too many files open"

In Imagemagick 7, you must preface montage with magick montage. (convert is simply replaced with magick) Though that is not likely the issue here. Did you install all the delegates for jpg and tiff? What do you get from magick -version Does it list JPG and TIF under Delegates? Have you checked and r...

What is your Imagemagick version? Calculations can be done inline with Imagemagick 7.

Re: I can't make this script to run in

Do you have Ghostscript installed as a delegate to Imagemagick?

Does

Code: Select all

magick -version
or

Code: Select all

magick -list configure
list gs or gslib?
