Most of the ImageMagick binary and RPM releases include TIFF support. Type
  • identiy -list format
and see if TIFF is listed. CGM support requires a delegate program, ralcgm. Download and install and ImageMagick should be able to convert CGM files to TIFF.

Ok, ImageMagick leverages Ghostscript to render PDF files. Ghostscript cannot handle your PDF file. Post a bug report to the Ghostscript development team.

Have you tried the demo workspaces yet in c:\tools\ImageMagick-6.2.6-Q16\Magick++_Demos. Try the button workspace. Compile and execute. If it succeeds, you can use the button workspace as a template for your own project.

ImageMagick does not have a complete implementation of Lab => RGB color transformation just yet. Perhaps in a future release.

Looks like we need a patch in the ImageMagick Makefile's. In the mean-time you could install the g++ RPM on your system to build ImageMagick.

We could always put an option in the configure script to enable the SSE2 instruction set at build time. Post your patch here and we will investigate making it part of the official ImageMagick distribution. Also post a URL to one of your images and the command line you used. We will need to reproduce...

We're using ImageMagick 6.2.6-1 and this command:
  • convert union.pdf -trim union.jpg
ImageMagick crops to the PDF MediaBox. Your image has a TrimBox and an ArtBox. According to the spec you can have one or the other but not both. Either way we currently ignore these tags.

The PDF to JPEG conversion works fine for us using ImageMagick 6.2.6-1 and Ghostscript 8.51. Its a big file so having plenty of free space under /tmp may help.

You can try configuring with the --without-magick-plus-plus. Magick++ requires a C++ compiler, however, the configure script should detect whether you have a workable C++ compiler. Not sure why it failed for you.

Post a URL to one of your problematic PDF files. We need to download it and reproduce the problem before we can offer any advice.
