Re: How to reduce the time taken by MagickWand methods

Set MAGICK_DEBUG: export MAGICK_DEBUG=cache It will show you if your image is cached to disk. Your image is 21600x21600 pixels. On our system, it was read and resized all in memory. We get these results: The program took 5.060282 seconds to read , 0.377161 seconds to resize , 0.299128 seconds to wri...

Re: How to reduce the time taken by MagickWand methods

Sure, read the links we provided. Its possible your image exceeds the memory resource limits of your host computer, or exceeds memory limits provided in your security policy, so its cached to disk. Disk access is much slower than memory access. If you provide a link to one of the images that is unde...

Re: How to reduce the time taken by MagickWand methods

Want more performance from ImageMagick? Try these options: add more memory to your system, see https://imagemagick.org/script/architecture.php#cache ; add more cores to your system, see https://imagemagick.org/script/architecture.php#threads ; reduce lock contention with the http://goog-perftools.so...

Re: EPS input, PNG output: no clip path defined with 7.0.10

The clipping path appears to be associated with the embedded TIFF image in the EPT image. Currently, we return the embedded EPS image which does not appear to include the clipping path. We changed the EPT reader to return both embedded images. You can get both with image.ept. For EPS, use image.ept[...

Here's one way: #define ThrowAPIException(wand) \ { \ description=MagickGetException(wand,&severity); \ (void) FormatLocaleFile(stderr,"%s %s %lu %s\n",GetMagickModule(), \ description); \ description=(char *) MagickRelinquishMemory(description); \ exit(-1); \ } ... MagickWandGenesis(); magick_wand=...

Re: Performance issue with CCITT TIFF

Resizing the thumbnail introduces new colors and requires an extra color reduction step to return it to a monochrome image as required by Group4 compression. We'll have a patch to fix the problem within a day or two. Thanks.

Can you post a link to your image? We need to reproduce the performance issue to help determine its source.

Re: font rendering

We have a patch for the narrow label (e.g. test.txt). The font rendering itself is problematic as we have three influences: ImageMagick, freetype font rendering API, and the font metrics. Its possible the problem lies with Freetype or the font metrics. We will investigate over the next week or two a...

Re: Doubt Related to Architecture of ImageMagick

Yes. Elapsed time is time since the inception of a particular image, whereas, CPU is the CPU time of ImageMagick and is not directly tied to a particular image unless that is the only image instantiated.

Re: Doubt Related to Architecture of ImageMagick

There is a timer attached when an image is instantiated. The timer tracks how much time has elapsed since its creation as well as how much CPU has been consumed. Its generally useful for debugging performance.

Re: 7.0.10-4 - Tiff to PDF - Insufficient data for an image - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

The image includes a 3 channel ICC profile which is incompatible with a one channel gray image. Add +strip to your command line to remove the errant color profile and return a proper PDF:

Code: Select all

magick input.tif +strip x.pdf

Re: Installed ImageMagick But no delegates

Why not try the pre-compiled portable version of ImageMagick. Download it @ https://imagemagick.org/download/binaries/magick. Don't forget to set executable permissions before you run it like this:

Code: Select all

./magick
