Re: Static planes value not equal to 1

I am using Mac OSX Tiger and have taken the rose: image from IM and converted it to png. Then I used Preview, Debabelizer, GraphicConverter to save rose.png to rose.bmp using each app. Then I went back to IM and converted each bmp file to png and it worked for all 3 of these app's bmp file. So what ...

possible bug-very slow converting to gif in 6.4.1-4

I just installed IM 6.4.1-4 Q16-HDRI Mac OSX Tiger and was testing some scripts of mine that are now running very slowly. I think I have identified where the problem lies - converting to gif is very slow: time convert logo: logo.jpg real 0m0.219s user 0m0.131s sys 0m0.064s time convert logo.jpg logo...

Re: Static planes value not equal to 1

you may want to post a link to an example image so that the IM folks can see why it is not valid. also have you tried

convert image.bmp -verbose info:

to see if tells you why it is not valid.

What app created it?

MIFF vs PFM question regarding IM 6.4.1-4 Q16 HDRI

I just downloaded and installed IM 6.4.1-4 Q16 HDRI Mac OSX TIGER and was checking to see if the changes we discussed for handling MIFF in HDRI were working. They do seem to work, but I am getting for the FFT to mag/phase for the phase image PFM: Depth: 32/16-bit Channel depth: gray: 16-bit Channel ...

Re: size limitations proplem

I will leave a final answer to the IM folks.

Just wondering if this is a Q16 IM build issue? If so, wondering if Q32 IM build might help?????

Of course memory could be the issue, but you may have ruled that out.

Re: possible documentation typo regarding color none

I have looked at your example and you are right. The issue seems to be that the gradient:red-none is not just making a gradient of the alpha channel (as I think it should in this case), but is making a gradient:red-black under the alpha gradient whereas it should be solid red under the alpha. You ca...

Re: Colorspace RGB -> Log question

It works for me. I don't think IM reports anything but RGB and Gray and such for colorspace. It does not store that information. I had requested it before. Nevertheless, convert -size 128x128 gradient: grad128.png and then convert grad128.png -colorspace LOG grad128log.png you will see that the seco...

Re: -adjoin problem windows and imagemagick 6.4.1-Q16

-adjoin appends the image in the row direction so that you get one image that is twice as tall. it does not make a multipage image

use

convert image1.tiff image2.tiff multipage.tiff

to make a two page (two-frame) tiff image (assuming the two images are the same dimensions)

Re: How do I use -splice option in Mogrify

I am not an expert, but I suspect that mogrify is too old for some of the new IM commands such as -splice. I think the only way to do it is to use convert.

But I will defer to the experts.

Re: Coverting EPS -> Gif - Strange TIFF Error

if you install(ed) Ghostscript it should show on your DELEGATES line from your configuration.

My configurations shows:

DELEGATES bzlib fontconfig freetype gs jpeg jp2 lcms lqr openexr png tiff x11 xml zlib

Note the freetype and the gs

So you need to reinstall GS

DELEGATES dps fontconfig freetype jpeg tiff x11 zlib

I think you are missing the Ghostscript delegate that should be in the list as gs.

Re: Adding an image to the end of text

see my example. I add a generous border, then trim it later as needed after the text is added (centered) and then add whatever final border is desired. See -border in the IM docs.

Re: Adding an image to the end of text

I am not sure I know exactly what you mean, but I have used a two step process for creating text. First use label: to build the text, then get the dimensions, then redo with -annotate. convert -background $bc \ -fill $tc $stroke -font $font -pointsize $point \ -gravity center label:"$text" \ -trim -...
