Re: potential but in -geometry going global IM 6.5.2-3

The -geometry option is a legacy option that unfortunately behaves as a setting (e.g. 100x100+10+20) and a resize operator (e.g. 100x100). To support both we associate the geometry with an image as it is encountered on the command line and its stay associated even after the image stack is popped (e...

potential bug in -geometry going global IM 6.5.2-3

IM 6.5.2-3 Q16 Mac OSX Tiger. This is not urgent as there is a work around as explained below. But I saw Anthony's note regarding -page going "global" and found a similar situation with -geometry not being respected within parenthesis and going "global". I was basically trying to make a 100x100 tran...

Re: Centering Annotations within a Square/Rect.

are you just trying to compare some color to the color at some pixel value in an image? get dimensions of rose: image: identify rose: rose:=>ROSE ROSE 70x46 70x46+0+0 8-bit DirectClass 9.45kb size is 70x46, so center is at 35,23 check the color of the center pixel in the rose image: convert rose:[1x...

Re: Exposure..

I did some experimentation with Exposure in the Mac Preview app and then examined the histograms produced. I think I have worked at what exposure does or at least a good approximation. I have a new script, exposure, that lets one change the exposure amount in an image. See http://www.fmwconcepts.com...

Re: How to trim the transparent pixels from the image border?

gotskill10 is right, -trim does not look for any particular color and works the way he said it does. the first user made that assumption, not I. I just provided a demo that it works for transparent borders.

Say you have 10 images image_1.png ... image_10.png all the same size j=2 convert image_1.png tmp.png while [ $j -le 10 ]; do new=`convert xc: -format "%[fx:100/$j]" info:` old=`convert xc: -format "%[fx:100-$new]" info:` composite -blend ${old}%x${new}% tmp.png image_$i.png tmp.png i=`expr $i + 1` ...

No offense taken. The fact is that my script is slow relatively speaking when compared to a proper full blown coded function.

Re: Straighten an image

At the time I wrote it, the IM function -deskew was not available. My original intent was for color pictures, not for b/w text. I believe that the IM function -deskew was especially written to handle slightly rotated text. My script is slow, because it is a "script" and not a compiled function with ...

Re: Straighten an image

IM has a function deskew for doing that. See http://www.imagemagick.org/script/command-line-options.php#deskew I also wrote a bash script, unrotate, that might work. see http://www.fmwconcepts.com/imagemagick/index.html unrotate testballot1.tif testballot1_tmp1.gif http://www.fmwconcepts.com/misc_te...

Re: Changing a grayscaled TIF to Color

try changing the image type from bilevel to truecolor convert test.tif -type truecolor -fill red -draw "rectangle 100x100 400x400" redrect.tif see -type http://www.imagemagick.org/script/command-line-options.php#type Does that work? alternately, try setting the -channel convert test.tif -channel rgb...

Re: how to convert fro progressive jpeg to non-progressive jpeg

have you just tried converting it?

convert progressive.jgp non-progressive.jpg

I am no expert, but seems that IM requires -interlace Line to force it to be progressive. See http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/formats/#jpg_write
