Re: Problem using convert

I know nothing about Gallery. But it would have been prudent for the Gallery people to be on top of IM if they are recommending its use.

With regard to command line syntax, this is explained in detail at http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/basics/#cmdline

Re: polar to rectangular cordinates

I took the 360 degree photo from http://www.0-360.com/elements.asp and trimmed it to the circle area http://www.fmwconcepts.com/misc_tests/polar2rect/circle_trim.png Then I followed the instructions and used Photoshop to generate the following polar to rectangular image: http://www.fmwconcepts.com/m...

IM pdf processing is not the most efficient by way of filesize

Post an example for us to try.

Re: polar to rectangular cordinates

Anthony has built the arc distortion into -distort, to go from rectangular to polar, but he needs to build the reverse. (Hint  ) However, I have a script, defish, that will convert the fisheye into a normal perspective view (not panoramic, though). See http://www.fmwconcepts.com/imagemagick/in...

Re: Problem using convert

there is no such image format that I know of with the suffix .tmp

If you want to create a temporary image, there are multiple ways to do so using other IM formats such as miff, mpc and mpr

see http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/files/

Re: non-square resolution

Just as a quick test, I tried convert 00000201.tif -depth 1 -compress LZW -density 240x240 tmp.tif I got an error message about incorrect date/time, but the file was created. So I did convert tmp.tif -verbose info: Image: tmp.tif Format: TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) Class: PseudoClass Geometry: 1...

Re: non-square resolution

Your sample tiff is not what you think it is. According to convert 00000201.tif -verbose info: It is 9-bit and RLE compressed, not 4-bit and LZW. convert 00000201.tif -verbose info: Image: 00000201.tif Format: TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) Class: PseudoClass Geometry: 1968x1312+0+0 Resolution: 240...

Re: possible bug in -contrast-stretch 0 in IM 6.4.2-4

Anthony, It may not make pure black or pure white. It uses the MIN,MAX value from all the given color channels, then uses that to 'stretch' the contrast over all the channels. As such you will get at least one '0' value as a minimum and one 'QuantumRange' value as maximum, but not necessarily all ch...

Re: Converting Different Image Sizes to 80x80

to process them all at once use mogrify (see http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/basics/#mogrify) but be very careful you understand how to use it. Try it on some test images until you get the hang of it. If all your images are different sizes, you cannot make them all 80x80 as IM will keep the aspect ...

Re: error whule try to convert png to xpm

type the following

convert -list configure

(not convert -list format)

and see if the line starting with DELEGATES includes png

If it does not, you need to install the libpng library.

See http://www.imagemagick.org/download/delegates/

Re: possible bug in -contrast-stretch 0 in IM 6.4.2-4

Not a bug. By default the color channels are 'linked' so the error marked test is actually correct. That was my first thought also, but I cannot figure out any meaningful algorithm to generate my result. If this is not a bug, please explain the algorithm for combining the channels such that it does...

Re: PerlMagick (6.40) Annotate - unable to change fonts

I am not knowledgeable about PerlMagick and am not trying to dissuade you from asking here, but you may get a more prompt reply by inquiring on the PerlMagick forum rather than here, which is mostly for command line processing. See viewforum.php?f=7
