Re: Jaggy edges

I still do not see that issue on the image you posted using ImageMagick 6.9.10.1. The latest image is not the same as the one you are showing nor the one in your command line. Your 6.8 version is very old. Perhaps you should upgrade.

Re: Sometimes caption: produces text that's too small.

You specified neither -pointsize nor a width or height via -size. Try including one or the other.

Re: Jaggy edges

I do not see any jaggy edges in your output. Can you point them out better? When I run your command on IM 6.9.10.1 Q16 Mac OSX, it looks fine to me. Perhaps I am missing what you call "jaggy edges"?

What is your exact ImageMagick version, i.e. 6.8.x.x

You can get that from

convert -version

Re: possible bug +distort polynomial

Fred, you'll need to check with Anthony. His usage pages show the last ImageMagick version he validated was 6.9.3-0 and this version returns the same results exhibited here suggesting that polynomial distortion is working as designed or there is a bug Anthony is not aware of. It looks to me that -d...

Re: possible bug +distort polynomial

I will try to add it the next time I do edits. I put in all your previous ones by the way last week.

possible bug +distort polynomial

Tested with IM 6.9.10.1 Q16 Mac OSX Ultimately I am trying to use +distort polynomial for a 2 or 3 order polynomial. But I could not get it to work properly. So I made a simple test case with a first order transformation and compared +distort affine to +distort polynomial. Here are my test. Essentia...

Re: Error combining jp2 files with magick.net

Dirk,

Magick and I started working on multi-channel tiffs a while back. But we did not finish it. So there may be some initial coding somewhere in IM.

Re: Broken gradients

You can mitigate the amount of banding by rendering at a higher density and then resizing. try convert -density 1200 -units pixelsperinch 74296.eps -resize 25% tmp.jpg If you also want to convert to srgb, then convert -density 1200 -units pixelsperinch -colorspace sRGB 74296.eps -resize 25% tmp.jpg ...

Re: Broken gradients

When I download your file and examine it (identify -verbose), it shows as PDF, not EPS, even thought it has an EPS suffix. Perhaps that is the issue. If you really have an EPS file, then perhaps zip compress it and upload it again. We need to have a proper input. When I display your image, it has ba...

Re: Broken gradients

Change your output to PNG or (non-jpeg compressed) TIFF with a Q16 compile of ImageMagick. As snibgo has said JPG is 8-bit and any 8-bit output may show banding in gradients due to the limited color depth.

Re: TIFF with alpha produces a corrupt output when JPG compressed.

It works fine for me also on IM 7.0.8.0 Q16 Mac OSX Sierra. I note that you are using Q8. Perhaps that is the issue. Or perhaps you need to upgrade libtiff?

Re: Noise removal from scanned document for auto crop

In command line mode, you can do it as follows:

Code: Select all

magick form.jpg -morphology close octagon:9 -fuzz 10% -format "%@" info:
1736x2698+30+355

Code: Select all

magick form.jpg -crop 1736x2698+30+355 +repage form_crop.png

Re: Error combining jp2 files with magick.net

ImageMagick does not support multi-channel (TIFF) images, yet, as far as I know, unless the 4th channel is an alpha channel or the channels are CMYK.

Re: Broken gradients

Please, always provide your IM version and platform when asking questions, since syntax may differ. Also provide your exact command line and if possible your images.
