Re: Problem converting large JPGs

Agreed. Try upgrading to the latest release. If that fails, let us know and we will investigate further.

Re: resurrecting gigapixel image from 256px jpgs - "unable to open pixel cache" and "too many files open"

You are not running the latest release of ImageMagick. Type

Code: Select all

magick --version
It should report version 7.0.8-8. If not, upgrade your release of ImageMagick and try your command again.

Re: DestroyMagickWand() assertion fails, application dumps core

Parallel algorithm issues are notoriously difficult to debug. The only hope of addressing this issue would be if we can reproduce the problem.

To determine the source of problem and propose a fix, we must first reproduce the problem. Post a URL to your image so we can download it. We'll report back why the exception is thrown and whether we can add a patch to fix the problem.

Re: Conversion of SVG to other formats does not correctly work

Thanks for the problem report. We can reproduce it and will have a patch to fix it in GIT master branch @ https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick later today. The patch will be available in the beta releases of ImageMagick @ http://www.imagemagick.org/download/beta/ by sometime tomorrow.

Re: resurrecting gigapixel image from 256px jpgs - "unable to open pixel cache" and "too many files open"

Your command works without complaint for us. We're using ImageMagick 6.8.10-8, the current release. We saved all the image file names to a file "filelist" to reduce the command line arguments size, then ran this command: $ montage -define registry:temporary-path=/data/tmp -limit memory 16mb -verbose...

Re: Download links to Windows binary releases broken?

Could be a browser cache problem. Do the links refer to ImageMagick version 7.0.8-7 or 6.9.10-7? If so, the download links should work. Otherwise, refresh your browser.

Re: composite -dissolve is bugged

See http://www.imagemagick.org/script/comma ... #composite:
Some -compose methods can modify the 'destination' image outside the overlay area. It is disabled by default. You can enable this by setting the special -set 'option:compose:clip-to-self' to 'true'.

Re: composite -dissolve is bugged

There are differences between IMv6 and IMv7 per the porting guide. However, we do try to replicate IMv6 behavior in IMv7 whenever possible. We have a patch to fix the -dissolve option problem you reported. Until the patch is exported, use the -define as we proposed.
