Hardware recommandation?
Hi magick, can you please tell me, if there is a hardware recommandation for executing ImageMagick in a 64-bit environment? I wonder, whether it is more advisable to get a 2x Intel Dual Core system (each 3,0 GHz) or a 2x Intel Quad Core system (each 2,66 GHz). Will ImageMagick profit more from one o...

Compare only trim box area of two PDFs
Hi magick,
I wonder, if it is possible to compare only the trim box area of two PDFs. I've tried some things, but it didn't lead to a solution.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Kind regards
Sven

ImageMagick and Windows Server 2003 r2 x64
Is there a binary release of ImageMagick for Windows Server 2003 r2 x64, i.e. for this 64 bit operating system?
Moreover, are there any experience concerning speed improvements using ImageMagick with a 64 bit operating system?
Thanks in advance and best regards
Sven

The memory/map limits only affect the image pixel cache. Other algorithms consume as much memory as required. We suspect the problem is that JPEG-compressed PDFs are generated as memory blobs. We can reduce memory consumption by performing the compression on disk. We'll get a patch into the next re...

Convert exceeds memory limit
Hello magick, when using the following command the memory consumption exceeds the given limit (300 MB and more are consumed): convert -limit memory 16 -limit map 16 -compress JPEG -quality 80 -density 152.4 -sample 50% D:\test1.tif D:\test1b.pdf Version: ImageMagick 6.3.0 11/22/06 Q8 http://www.imag...

IM does not use media box by default
Hi magick, I've read that IM is supposed to use the media box by default when converting a PDF document to something else, e.g. convert image.pdf image.jpg Unfortunately, I have a PDF document where this behaviour is not true using ImageMagick 6.2.7-1. The media box, the crop box and the art box (= ...

ImageMagick, GhostScript and PDF/X
Especially in prepress industry the PDF/X standards have already become import and will become more and more important in the future. There is a certain test kit, called Altona Test Suite, which can be used to check, if a certain workflow system is PDF/x compatible. Some information about Altona Tes...

Error with CMYK images and the compare utility
Hi magick, in the latest version of ImageMagick (6.2.6) I found an error concerning CMYK images and the compare utility. This worked great some versions before (e.g. in version 6.2.1). When comparing RGB images everything is fine. The different pixels are displayed in 90% "red". When compa...
