Hi,

I'm trying to make an svg image, and I have difficulties with image magick rendering.
my svg code is :

produced image is similar with gimp, firefox, ristretto.
But imagemagick is completely different (image is drawn partially outside of visible part).

I identified that the problem is coming from transform='rotate(5 515 325.67513)
is drawn correctly (but not what I want) : transform='rotate(5)

Can someone help me to fix my image code ?
Or indicate me, it's a bug (which should be reported in the right section)

I'm using imagemagick from debian stable package (Version: ImageMagick 6.9.7-4 Q16 x86_64 20170114 )

I'm new to svg, so I think it highly possible I missed something in the spec.

What SVG renderer is being used. It could be IM internal MSVG/XML or RSVG delegate or Inkscape. The IM internal one is poor. You should use RSVG or better Inkscape. If Inkscape is on your system and IM can find it, then it will be used. Otherwise, you would need to install the RSVG delegate library with ImageMagick. It would show up when you run

Hi,

I was using IM internal renderer.

I installed inkscape from debian package.
Now, IM is using inkscape, so rendring is different but still invalid.

The new result is : rotate is not applied at all.
inkscape is dropping : transform='rotate(5 515 325.67513) translate(-23, 24)'

rsvg is installed but looks not linked by debian maintainer

This works fine for me. I see a rotation. I am using IM 6.9.9.34 Q16 Mac OSX Sierra with RSVG 2.40.18

Add -verbose to your command to see which renderer is being used. Perhaps IM cannot find your installed Inkscape.

problem solved by using rsvg.
I think I should fill a bug against internal IM renderer (for SVG).

How am i supposed to do that ?
Do I have to create a new thread in the correct forum section or that one is sufficient ?

Filing a bug report will not do any good. The internal renderer is not very good and that is why you have RSVG and Inkscape options. If you feel that Inkscape is not rendering properly, then file a bug with Inkscape.

Having "transform" as an attribute of the outer-most svg tag seems to be valid SVG, but I'm not sure what a renderer should do with it. Inkscape seems to ignore it. It is unusual -- I've never seen a transform there.

It is usual to put such transforms in a group around the elements that are to be transformed, like this:
