-background option not working

Post by mjh217 »

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 and the -background option no longer seems to work. e.g.

convert -background white example.ps example.jpg

Operating system: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Imagemagick version: 8:6.9.7.4+dfsg-16ubuntu6.3

Anyone else having this problem or found a workaround?

That version of IM is old. IM delegates PS rasterization to Ghostscript. Is that also old on your computer?

If an upgrade doesn't help, I suggest you post a link to example.ps.
