Release file handles (C++)

Questions and postings pertaining to the usage of ImageMagick regardless of the interface. This includes the command-line utilities, as well as the C and C++ APIs. Usage questions are like "How do I use ImageMagick to create drop shadows?".

Windows has a limited number of file handles that can be opened simultaneously. Make sure you have a recent version of ImageMagick, the current release is ImageMagick 6.2.8-3. It has improved file code for allocating file handled internally. You can control the number of file handles allocated to ImageMagick internally with the MAGICK_FILE_LIMIT environment variable.
