First make certain that IM is functional.
Look at several of the Identify commands, e.g., -version, -verbose, -debug

Then start off with simple examples from. http://www.cit.gu.edu.au/~anthony/graphics/imagick6/

When you get the hang of it, then start with a simple creation.
Use -debug exception when something doesn't work.

Bug reporting Problems in IM

Post by anthony »

Really...

Without knowing exactly what you did, and at tring to achieve, and I mean exactly, no one can help. We need more information to help and you have not given us enough information, other than a single WORKING banner.

As you have a website, create a page showing the steps and results you performed and what you wanted.

Don't forget the version numbers too.

I do this all the time when reporting problems with IM, using the IM Examples bugs page.

For example I just reported that a 'extra vertical line' appears while only drawing horizontal lines on
ttp://www.cit.gu.edu.au/~anthony/graphics/ima ... g_settings

This tells the developer what I wanted, what I got, and at the bottom of the page is the exact version of IM I used!
