convert: Not a TIFF file, bad version number 10752 (0x2a00)

I am using the compiled binary of ImageMagick-6.3.2 named ImageMagick-powerpc-apple-darwin8.8.0.tar that I downloaded from VersionTracker. I am running it on a PowerBook G4 PPC. I get the following error with I try to convert tif files: "convert: Not a TIFF file, bad version number 10752 (0x2a00)".

I have tried a number of photoshop TIFF files with the same results. Has anyone encountered and resolved this problem?

Yeah. Looks like the same problem. Unfortunately there is currently NO FIX!

Any new help out there?

Thanks,
