forum should block tinyurl references in posts

Post here to shower the ImageMagick developers with praise or discuss how you could have done a better job if you developed ImageMagick. Or talk about how Photoshop is better than ImageMagick. Even complain about how no one answered your postings in the Users forum. Venting and musings welcomed here.

forum should block tinyurl references in posts

There are a variety of problems with URL shortening services. Forums sometimes ban them because the URL shortening service can do a variety of shenanigans like redirect old links to ads. The forum is reliant on the URL shortening service to stay online and stay honest.

Tinyurl is particularly evil, because they've started using CloudFlare (a walled-garden that blocks Tor users). So even though imagemagick.org and the destination site both respects Tor users and respects civil liberties, when a user posts a tinyurl link they unwittingly put a Tor block in the middle, making the forum less usable for Tor users.
