possible bug -edge IM 6.7.8.7 Q16

IM 6.7.8.7 Q16 Mac OSX Snow Leopard

I believe there may be a bug in -edge when processing a binary image. This seems to have started at IM 6.7.7.10 and continues to the current version.

IM 6.7.4.10
im6 convert -size 64x64 xc:white xc:black +append \( +clone -flop \) -append -edge 2 1test_im6.gif
Image

IM 6.7.8.7 (both the following only show a binary checkerboard pattern)
convert -size 64x64 xc:white xc:black +append \( +clone -flop \) -append -edge 2 1test_im1a.gif
Image

convert -size 64x64 xc:"gray(255)" xc:"gray(0)" +append \( +clone -flop \) -append -edge 2 1test_im1b.gif

We can reproduce the problem you posted and have a patch. Look for it in ImageMagick 6.7.8-8 Beta by sometime tomorrow. Thanks.
