Installation Woes

Post by Phill M »

I am running my own Web server on a Windows Advanced Server 3000 platform

I'm running Movable Type to create blogs on my website

Perl installed correctly, as did Imagemagic 6.4.7-q16
(at least I can open the program, and converting the icon worked)

Perlmagic was included in the download but did not install correctly, as Movable Type does not report the package was installed.

When I try to manually install the ppm file from a command line, I get the message:
ppm install failed: The PPD does not provide code to install for this platform.

I uninstalled q16 and tried q8 with the same result.

What am I doing wrong here?

Please help.. I need to post thumbnails of pictures to the blog and Image Magic worked once upon a time.

OK - I've installed every version of the recent relase I can find.. Q16, Q8 both dynamic and static.

I can install image magick with no problem

PerlMagick will not install or when I modify the ppm file, I gett a deep recursive error in Image::Magick autoload and my server slows to a crawl.

Any ideas, suggestions?

I downloaded the imagemagick source code tonight and a Borland C++ compiler, but I have no clue what I'm doing here.

Anyone into bartering? If we can get this to work, I will gladly provide a day of sailing on the Raritan Bay near New York City.
