Display writes huge amount of pixels cache

Post by Hubbitus »

As /tmp on modern systems in ram it leads to problem. Please look at: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1157973

Why so much space required for display? Monitor size in any case not so big.

The image has 49603x70157 = 3.5 billion pixels. If these take 8 bytes per pixel, this will be 28 GB. If you don't have this much free memory or disk, it is bound to fail.

Why it required for *display*?? Especially for write?? It even not convert. Most monitors anyway will not display so.
