howto add multiple images to each other

You can do muitiple image composition by using -flatten and -mosaic

  convert 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg \
         -compose plus -background black -flatten  out.jpg

WARNING: the IM examples is at this moment shown a major bug in GIF
transparency handling, example image results for GIF may be incorrect.
This should be fixed by the end of the day.
