Special characters in file names on W2008

Questions and postings pertaining to the usage of ImageMagick regardless of the interface. This includes the command-line utilities, as well as the C and C++ APIs. Usage questions are like "How do I use ImageMagick to create drop shadows?".

Special characters in file names on W2008

Post by cmox »

Hi, there,

I just stumble upon a problem I can't solve. Version 6.7.1. is installed on two computers. One is a Win2008 R2 (IM x64 is installed), the other is a Win XP PC.

On a Windows 2008 server IM does not process files with a name containing a "%" or a "." somewhere in the filename like "nice.image.jpg".

On a Windows XP PC that works just fine.

Any quick ideas? :?

I have just tried and I couldn't verify this behaviour. On our Windows 2008 R2 server, IM 6.7.1-6 processes filenames containing multiple points or percent signs correctly. I tried this by typing the command directly into a command box.
