Folks, the "Definitive Guide to ImageMagick" written by Michael Still
is a good introduction to ImageMagick but there are a few problems with
the book such as the images being gray rather than color and a chapter
on MagickWand for PHP being mislabeled. It's really talking about
"imagick" for PHP. For some reason the author and Apress did not give the
development team a reviewer copy so we had no opportunities to improve the
book before its release. However, the book is still very much welcomed
due to the lack of good documentation about the ImageMagick command line.
Use the book in concert with Anthony's pages at
http://www.cit.gu.edu.au/~anthony/graphics/imagick6
and you have a fairly comprehensive introduction to the ImageMagick
command line. The development team is looking forward to another book on
ImageMagick that covers the API development for MagickCore, MagickWand,
PerlMagick, Magick++, MagickWand for PHP, and others. Hey Apress,
its time to get started on this book!
