Re: ImageMagick from 6.9.9-x on returns wrong colorspace information for grayscale JPEG

The colorspace change was transient. We originally suggested sGRAY / LinearGray so its an analog to sRGB / RGB. However, that change was thought to potentially break too many existing scripts so we settled on Gray / LinearGray to distinguish nonlinear from linear gray. To check for the 6.9.9-29 rele...

Re: Tiling very large image exits with Abort trap: 6

We should have a new release tomorrow. It may take some time before brew updates to the latest release. You can always download and install from source-- but wait until tomorrow for the latest patches to mirror worldwide.

Re: Tiling very large image exits with Abort trap: 6

Thanks for the problem report. We can reproduce it and will have a patch to fix it in GIT master branch @ https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick within a few days. The patch will be available in the beta releases of ImageMagick @ https://www.imagemagick.org/download/beta/ within a few days.

Re: Tiling very large image exits with Abort trap: 6

ImageMagick tracks resource consumption to help manage resource demand. It appears that your image is trying to release one more *file* resource than was acquired. That's a bug. However, we need to reproduce the problem before we can offer a fix. If you could post a URL to an image that produces the...

Re: Exception thrown No space for output buffer

The conversion worked for us with this command:

Code: Select all

convert -limit memory 0 -limit map 0 1.tif 1.png
We're using ImageMagick 7.0.7-22 under Linux. Try the command line as above. Does that work? If so, you need to set the memory and map resource limits in your Magick.NET script.

Re: direct access to pixels

You want to edit quantum.xs.in. quantum.xs is built from quantum.xs.in. However, you could edit quantum.xs so you don't need to reconfigure for each build. Just make sure you save a backup in case its overwritten when you reconfigure the ImageMagick distribution.

Re: Exception thrown No space for output buffer

It looks like our speculation was correct. The libTIFF delegate library is attempting to allocate enough space to host the entire image in memory. We did not write nor do we support libTIFF so we can't help. If you post a URL to your image, we will download and inspect it. We might be able to read t...

Re: direct access to pixels

Its likely writing the SetPixels() method was a challenge we were not prepared to tackle at the time we developed the GetPixels() method. Would you care to volunteer to write the method and contribute it to the PerlMagick user community?

Re: direct access to pixels

GetAuthenticPixels() returns a Perl blob and you are right, its not safe as you could overflow the buffer. We could transfer it to a Perl safe buffer but the design was to keep it lightning fast for Perl users that have a need for speed. You are tasked with unpacking the binary blob which requires y...

Re: Exception thrown No space for output buffer

ImageMagick has resource limits to help push large images to disk to conserve memory, however, some TIFF images are decoded by the libTIFF delegate library rather than ImageMagick. If so, libTIFF may try to allocate enough memory for the entire image and fail. It all depends on the image type. Many ...

Re: possible bug -direction for text.

Direction is utilized for complex text layout @ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_text_layout. The RAQM delegate library is required. Otherwise direction is ignored.

Look for the PerceptualHash() method in PerlMagick in the GIT master branch @ https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick later today. The method will be available in the beta releases of ImageMagick @ https://www.imagemagick.org/download/beta/ by sometime tomorrow.

Re: Identify: UFRaw shows under `Software`

Recent release of ImageMagick utilize the libraw delegate library rather than ucfraw-batch. Try ImageMagick 6.9.9-34 and see if that resolves your issue.
