Re: Bitmaps produced with 7.0.7 have no compression and have incorrect bit-depth in the header (Worked as expected in 7.

We get

Code: Select all

$ magick icon1.png icon2.png +append -mosaic -type Palette -depth 8 -chop x15+0+15 BMP3:old.bmp
$ identify old.bmp
old.bmp BMP3 32x15 32x15+0+0 8-bit sRGB 256c 1588B 0.000u 0:00.000
Is that not expected results?

Re: Possible bug sparse-color: IM 6.9.9.33 Q16 Mac OSX Sierra

Thanks for the problem report. We can reproduce it and will have a patch to fix it in GIT master branch @ https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick later today. The patch will be available in the beta releases of ImageMagick @ https://www.imagemagick.org/download/beta/ by sometime tomorrow.

Re: Possible bug sparse-color: IM 6.9.9.33 Q16 Mac OSX Sierra

We get identical results for 6.9.9-34 and 7.0.7-22 under Fedora 27. The output of sparse: is designed for machine consumption so newlines are not recommended.

Re: Bitmaps produced with 7.0.7 have no compression and have incorrect bit-depth in the header (Worked as expected in 7.

We tried your command and it returned a paletted image as expected: $ convert logo: rose: wizard: +append -mosaic -type Palette -depth 8 -chop x15+0+15 bmp3:test.bmp $ identify test.bmp test.bmp BMP3 1190x625 1190x625+0+0 8-bit sRGB 256c 233642B 0.040u 0:00.040 Perhaps the problem is specific to you...

Re: HEIF / HEIC image format?

Right. You also need the libde265 library and headers installed on your system. After you install it, go to the ImageMagick source folder and type `configure`. When it completes, review the finals lines of output and ensure HEIC is enabled.

Re: possible bug compare IM 6.9.9.33 and IM 7.0.7-21

Comparing image of different sizes can be useful. Assume a reference image and a cropped version of the reference image. When compared, they might have minimum distortion suggesting they are similar. If two images of drastically different sizes are compared, it will return a high level of distortion...

Re: possible bug compare IM 6.9.9.33 and IM 7.0.7-21

If images to compare are different sizes, the comparison still completes utilizing virtual pixels. Older versions of ImageMagick would instead throw an exception if the images were not the same size.

Re: PSD to PNG layer issue

The problem seems to be that the second layer is lettering for "600 dpi" in red so when you flatten the layers, it blends with the red background. If the second layer was white, like it is in the composite, you would get expected results, i.e. 600 dpi in white lettering written on a red background;

Re: Uncaught ImagickException's on readImageFile

Bonzo is right. However, if you can reproduce the problem from the command-line, we will investigate. For example, if your image is named image.jpg and this command fails for you: convert image.jpg /dev/null let us know (use 'magick' instead of 'convert' if you are using ImageMagick 7). Post a URL t...

Re: HEIF / HEIC image format?

A user has contributed a HEIC reader (it does not write in the HEIC format), however, its not part of the ImageMagick distribution yet. We're waiting for clearance from the "lawyers". Until we get that clearance, you can build ImageMagick from source yourself. Grab the ImageMagick source distributio...
