Re: memory leak

You are seeing overhead associated with setting up the OpenMP parallel environment. We can't control that, its part of the libgomp library, not ImageMagick. Or perhaps libgomp has a destructor we can call, but we are not aware of an destructor API call. You can build ImageMagick without OpenMP enabl...

Re: memory leak

You are checking for memory leaks in the compiler, not ImageMagick. Try this command instead:

Code: Select all

valgrind --leak-check=yes wand < logo.png

Re: Custom Properties (Attributes)

Custom attributes must be supported by a particular image format and by the image coder. If you can point us to a reference that shows custom attributes for the DPX image format, for example, are supported by the format specification, we will consider supporting custom attributes in a future release...

Re: memory leak

We do not get any errors or leaks:

Code: Select all

Re: Custom Properties (Attributes)

You have 'dpx::'. It should be 'dpx:', only one colon.

Re: Possible bug trimming animation in IM 6.9.8.10 Q16

Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce the problem under CentOS 7. We ran your command ten times and got consistent and expected results. We'll try under Mac OS X later this week.

Re: possible bug trimming animation in IM 7.0.6-0 Q16

Here's the solution that appears to work with IMv7 (thanks Fred):

Code: Select all

magick -dispose previous -delay 10 -background "$bgcolor" oHBWq.gif -trim -layers TrimBounds -layers optimize -loop 0 output4.gif
EDIT: IM 7 needs the -coalesce remove from the same command that works in IM 6 --- Fred

Re: Possible bug show: IM 6.9.8.10 Q16 Mac OSX Sierra

Thanks for the problem report. We can reproduce it and will have a patch to fix it in GIT master branch @ https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick later today. The patch will be available in the beta releases of ImageMagick @ http://www.imagemagick.org/download/beta/ by sometime tomorrow.

Re: Capture mouse pointer with "import"?

Add the -screen option to your import command. Does that work?

Re: Upscaling algo discussion

Have you looked at the -magnify option? magick logo: -magnify logo.png It uses pixel art scaling to double the size of the image. How does it compare to your proposed algorithm? The ICBI algorithm works are arbitrary scale, correct? It will take some effort to implement any resizing algorithm so ide...

Re: Upscaling algo discussion

Is the algorithm restricted to 2X upscaling? Does it not support arbitrary upscaling? Instead of 128x128 upscaling to 256x256, could the algorithm instead upscale to 400x400, as an example? If so, can you update the code base to support arbitrary widths and heights?

Re: Performance Improvement

See https://www.imagemagick.org/script/architecture.php. It discusses the trade-off of managing 200 image formats with performance. The greatest performance will likely comes from additional cores on your system. You also gain performance by using the Q8 non-HDRI build of ImageMagick. Q8 reduces the...

Re: identify and cr2 raw takes ages

It took 15 seconds for a 5202x3469 CR2 image under Fedora with IMv7. It takes considerably less time if you edit delegates.xml and change the --out-type from PNG to PPM and --out-depth to 8. However, you do lose image information if you make this change, but identify works much faster-- the command ...
