I have noticed that -strip makes the result a bit better but I don't want to strip the profiles and the exif data.

I tested on my system and it works this way.
Actually the error message says it, but now I understand :)
But what if I want to leave the format recognition to IM ?
There should be a way to escape/quote the file path. It may contain characters that are internally used by IM for some logic and ...

Currently it is not possible for me to upgrade to 6.9.2.4, so I cannot test with it now
Tried with quotes, escaping the colon - no luck
As far as I know the problem exists only on Linux (don't know about other Unix systems ...)

I already reported such a bug (unfortunately in wrong forum, sorry for that), but now I hit the same problem again, with newer version.

The problem as you can see is that it gets only the first layer

I have problems when converting layered TIFF file:

The image is contains 3 layers with transparent background, made with Photoshop (CS5 as far as can be read from the metadata)

The same problem is reproducible in Linux with 6.8.3-7
There is no way to parse colon as part of the path. Tried escaping (single, double, triple), quotes, both ... no luck.

Tried with quotes, doesnt help much ...
And as far as I see from the post this problem has been reproduced in 6.7.3 and I dont know if it has been fixed in 6.7.7
