Did anyone else notice that they lost like a month of posts here? Posts jump from April 11th to May22. I know they just upgraded to phpbb 3. did they go from an old copy, or did the upgrade not work?
Does anyone know if they'll fix it, or should I repost all my problems?

Light Effect.. from blur?
Hi, I'm trying to make this image animation effect with IM: http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q68/Arclite06/thfordracing.gif I know I'd have to do it frame by frame, probably from a script. I'm just wondering what command I could use. Is there a directional blur that would create this? -d

fill transparent
I'm trying to make a transparent rectangle (ie. putting a hole in the image) I've tried: convert -size 100x60 xc:skyblue -fill transparent -draw "roundrectangle 20,10 80,50 20,15" draw_rrect.gif However, that doesn't work. I guess it's just drawing a transparent rectangle, which makes sens...

The program HTMLDOC will create a PDF that includes a jpg. If not directly, you may need to make an html page that references the jpg, at which you can convert to PDF.

Benchmarking
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has benchmarking scripts for IM. I'm interested in an easy way of comparing the performance of IM accross several machines, and of comparing different versions of IM. I know I could just resize a batch full of images, but I'm interested in a more complete, representat...

Well, I did install freetype2 from source, then just removed the dependancy on it in the spec file, and it seemed to build ok... but it won't work when I try to install it. I still have that libpng problem : #rpm -ivh ImageMagick-6.2.9-3.x86_64.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libpng12.so.0(PNG12_0)(...

Yes, well, the regular build option is not as easy for deployments and removal. (I have some trouble with the rpm solution, but a lot lot more trouble with the regular builds) I really have to use a RPM based solution. Is there a way to disable the freetype2 support (without disabling freetype) in t...

adaptive-resize
Now that I got a test version of 6.2.9 working, I've been looking at the new adapative-resize option. I've noticed that it can be significantly faster, up to twice as fast on big resizes. I've also noticed that the resulting image can be a lot different. It seems that adaptive-resize makes the new i...

upgrading to 6.2.9 : freetype2 requirement?
Hi, I'm trying to upgrade to the last IM, and I aways seem to run into major requirements problems with each upgrade. I'm using RHEL x64, so I'm using or buidlings rpm's for installation. up2date doesnt' seem to be able to provide the necessary requirement. For the latest update, when I try to build...

I'll just add that I'm having the same problem as well. my system is on a machine with a lot of users uploading images, some of which are clearly invalid and it's been filling the disk space. Since the convert crashes or is killed when processing some extra large images, I guess the temorary files a...
