Re: Noise removal from scanned document for auto crop

Are the red line part of the actual image or added for show? If not, then please provide the original. What is the area of interest for this image?

Please always provide your ImageMagick version and platform!

Re: How to prevent alpha channel association during conversion?

ImageMagick will change colorspace to gray for those formats that support it if the image is completely gray. But you can often force RGB for certain output types. Try adding -type truecolor to your command if your output is tif.

Re: Text with stroke Anti-aliasing (shadow) problem

Which issue do you question? There are two above. I tried 7.0.8.0 on my Mac and the last one above about uneven baseline and it seems fixed. IM 7.0.8.1 is beta and could be undergoing some changes. So I would not trust that, yet.

No one knows exactly what Photoshop does, except the Photoshop team. It is proprietary code. So unless there is a reference paper that was used by Photoshop to code that, we cannot reproduce it. However, I have several tonemap bash unix scripts that you can try at my web site listed below, if you us...

I do not see this issue in IM 6.9.10.0 Q16 Mac OSX. I suggest you upgrade. 6.9.7.4 is over 200 versions old.

Please always provide your ImageMagick version and platform/OS when asking questions. Also please try to make your question relevant to the topic and not just "please help me".

Re: Batch autocrop images to fixed size?

The hough transform transforms the image into an accumulator array at distance from the top left to any line and in 1 degree increment, so it is of dimensions diagonal x 180 degrees. To find lines it searches the accumulator for high density regions. So snibgo is correct in that the accuracy is limi...

Re: Batch autocrop images to fixed size?

I do not think Canny/Hough lines will work that well. It is too hard to tune to avoid too many similar lines. I spent some time and finally got it down to 4 lines, but they will not crop well even if you get the line intersections as you can see from the lines drawn. http://www.fmwconcepts.com/misc_...
