Re: “JPEG” algo treats JPEGs differently when combining to a PDF

I would suggest you search Google for jpg to pdf converters. See for example, https://en.softonic.com/downloads/jpg-to-pdf-converter

Re: How to: generate CMYK TIFF with additional spot color channels

Reading from and writing to additional channels in TIFF is not currently possible with ImageMagick as far as I know. But it has had some work on it, though I do not know of any time frame for it to be finished.

Re: how to problems since upgrading ?

try proper IM syntax with the input right after convert.

Code: Select all

convert image.ps -resize 512x512 -crop 256x256 image.png
IM 6.8.9 is about 150 versions old and should be upgraded. Perhaps it had a bug.

Re: Why are spaces forbidden in the -convolve argument

Put quotes about your arguments and see if that works. With spaces, the arguments are considered as multiple sets of arguments and not one set.

Also consider using the newer -morphology convolve rather than the older legacy -convolve. See http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/convolve/

Re: Flatten layers – bad results (TIFF->JPG)

I can verify on Mac OSX Sierra that it works fine in IM 6.9.10.1 Q16, but fails on IM 7.0.8.1 Q16 HDRI.

Re: “JPEG” algo treats JPEGs differently when combining to a PDF

After reading all that, I am not sure what the ImageMagick bug actually is. Can you describe it in a short sentence?

Re: Display difference of two images

Please, always provide your IM version and platform when asking questions, since syntax may differ. Also provide your exact command line and if possible your images. Re: Merging two transparent png images AND drawing an outline around them

Your version of ImageMagick does not include OpenMP, which allows multi-threading if you have more cores. My systems had a SSD also. I was actually processing with 7.0.8.1 Q16 HDRI. I would suggest you check your policy.xml file. or just do magick -list policy though that may not actually list your ...

Re: Merging two transparent png images AND drawing an outline around them

I have no idea? What do you get from convert -version? Does it have OpenMP enabled? Are you on a hosted server that may have put limits on your policy.xml file?

The first one I mentioned was using the disk and the second one was using -blur.

Re: Merging two transparent png images AND drawing an outline around them

On my INTEL Mac Mini (2 core) OSX Sierra (8G ram) and ImageMagick 6.9.10.1 Q16, the first script took 2m 55s. The second script took 12 s. To add another color band, just duplicated the two lines for the red, such as magick design1.png design2.png -compose over -composite ^ ( +clone -alpha extract -...

Re: determining the pixel aspect ration of a TIFF

What do you mean by pixel aspect ratio? Do you mean the width/height ratio of the image where the width and height are in pixels? If so, then convert image.tiff -format "%[fx:w/h]\n" info: If on IM 7, then use magick rather than convert. ____________________________ Please, always provide your IM ve...

Re: Merging two transparent png images AND drawing an outline around them

Using disk rather than octagon will produce a much smoother outline. You can fill the gaps with -morphology close at the end. This work for me in Unix syntax. Here is the Windows code: magick design1.png design2.png -compose over -composite ^ ( +clone -alpha extract -morphology edgeout disk:40 -alph...
