Re: Convert svg to png with transparency

Perhaps you are using the internal ImageMagick MSVG/XML renderer, which on older versions of ImageMagick is not as good as Inkscape or RSVG. If so and you do not want Inkscape, then install the most current RSVG delegate into ImageMagick on both systems. You can check if you have it as a delegate us...

Re: Boolean detection of a face, any face

I do not think there is a nice easy face detection in ImageMagick. I would suggest you try something like OpenCV where they have trained data to do face detection.

Re: Jaggy edges

That is old. Try upgrading to 9.23 and see if that fixes the issue.

Re: Filter to improve some tif images

It would be better if you provide an example. This forum does not allow uploads. So you need to post the image to some free image hosting service and then put the URL here.

Re: Jaggy edges

Did you check your version of Ghostscript? That could just be the issue.

Re: possible bug +distort polynomial

After looking into it further, there are no easy inverses for arbitrary polynomial other than first order and some very simple higher order ones. I found this quote by a Google search. Formulas for the inverse of a polynomial, when they exist, often involve complicated combinations of roots of vario...

Re: possible bug +distort polynomial

I think Anthony may be correct. The polynomial may not actually be reversible at least in an easy way. However, @Anthony, does polynomial support EWA or are you defaulting to something else. With EWA, you would have had to have the derivatives of the inverse to compute the ellipse.

Code: Select all

convert -version
will give you the ImageMagick version.

Re: Jaggy edges

If you are not getting the same results as I did with the same version of ImageMagick, then check your version of Ghostscript and upgrade to the latest version. I was using 9.23

Re: Jaggy edges

IM 6.7.2.7 is ancient, though on Linux, the date of the last patch is more important, since they keep patching old versions. The patch does not show the proper version of the patch and could be buggy. If possible you should try to find a host that will install a private version of ImageMagick on you...

This forum does not allow uploads. So you need to post the image to some free image hosting service and then put the URL here. If your image is proprietary, can you create or find one that is not, which shows the same issue? Also please always provide your ImageMagick version and platform? Perhaps y...

With Windows I obtain what I want with
magick chunk.png -convolve ^
0,0,3,4,3,0,0,^
3,4,4,4,4,4,3,^ etc.
You have no spaces so it works fine. The issue was when the argument to -convolve has spaces, which require quoting.

Re: Unexpected borders between white object and background when converting PDF -> PNG

This command works fine for me on IM 7.0.8.2 Q16 Mac OSX using Ghostscript 9.23. Perhaps you need to upgrade ghostscript. magick mogrify -density 900 -units PixelsPerInch -background white -flatten -format png test.pdf What is your version of Ghostscript? Note that in IM 7, you should use magick mog...

Incomplete list of metrics from convert -list metric

See the list http://www.imagemagick.org/script/comma ... php#metric, which includes ssim. But

Code: Select all

convert -list metric
does not include ssim nor dssim. I get only

Code: Select all
