Re: -geometry widthxheight<

Not all operations with {geometry} can use modifiers such as "<". I think this is a general "misbehaviour" of this modifier. Try magick -size 300x200 xc:yellow -resize 200x400< rs.png It leaves the image at 300x200 pixel, whereas I would expect it to have 300x400 after resizing. (In the Windows cmd...

Re: -geometry widthxheight<

But using +distort rather than -distort will expand the canvas automatically without the need to enlarge your input. My results with +distort perspective are not very promising. Try: magick -size 300x200 xc:white -draw "polyline 50,180 260,180 120,80 100,80" rect.png magick rect.png -virtual-pixel ...

-geometry widthxheight<

At https://imagemagick.org/script/command-line-processing.php#geometry is says that the modifier < enlarges an image with dimension(s) smaller than the corresponding width and/or height argument(s). I am trying to rectify a perspective photograph with ImageMagick in a CMD batch file under Windows, p...

Re: Howdo I make +distort affine preserve virtual pixels?

I have a similar problem, trying to make a montage of several images in a more ore less horizontal row, using two fit points at each vertical image side, provided by a text file, to match every two of them. This is rather easy to perform via distort Affine @pointlist.txt , but I have to make acompan...

Re: Best compression code

And as I see now: Then you also don't need the option -precision 16, as the result is delivered in bytes by default ;-)

Re: Select file ordering under Windows

OK, here is my tested solution: SETLOCAL EnableDelayedExpansion %~d1 CD %~p1 DEL MLIST.txt DEL slist.txt DEL sfl.txt :: Query sort order SET C=0 FOR %%i in (%*) DO ( SET /P A=Position %%~ni%%~xi = ECHO !A!_%%i>>MLIST.TXT ) :: :: Sort filenames TYPE mlist.txt|SORT >> slist.txt :: :: Strip off counter...

Re: Best compression code

Good suggestion, this will make the integer math robust. This would need:

Code: Select all

 SET S=!S:B=!
 SET /A S=9*!S!/1000
an one could leave the extent option at KB.

Re: Select file ordering under Windows

1: This sounds like an idea, although "sliding" is impossible in a command box. But one could list the files with a numbering and ask the user to answer somthing like "1432". 2: You cannot really sent multiple times to the same batch script, Windows will run an new instance every time. But one could...

Re: Best compression code

Although I doubt that this approach makes much sense, here is the Windows batch code that basically does the trick: SETLOCAL EnableDelayedExpansion FOR %%i in (*.jpg) DO ( FOR /F %%j IN ('identify -format %%b %%i') DO SET S=%%j SET S=!S:KB=! SET /A S=9*!S!/10 magick %%i -define jpeg:extent=!S!KB %%~...

Select file ordering under Windows

I would like to write a Windows solution that montages, say, 4 photos in 2x2 order to an image. This is easy to achieve with montage , I know. The difficult thing is to let the user easily choose the ordering of the images: If I use Windows SendTo, I have no control on the file ordering. My experime...

Re: Preserve EXIF while conversation from TIF to TIF/TIF to JPG

This is the official answer of the development team: The TIFF delegate library has support for EXIF but we found it to be buggy. It often caused faults and exposed a security vector. We eventually disabled EXIF. Until we see improved support for EXIF in the TIFF delegate library, you will instead ne...

Re: Preserve EXIF while conversation from TIF to TIF/TIF to JPG

I just ran into the same problem when converting RAW into TIFF, see https://imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?p=167971#p167971. It took me some time to find out that the problem was created solely by ImageMagick that deleted the Exif information during the conversion TIFF --> TIFF. And ...

Re: Piping from dcraw to ImageMagick?

I tried the piping version -- yesterday on my computer at home, running Windows 10, 64 bit and just now on my office computer running Windows 7, 32 bit. The latter has just thrown a different error when using IM's version of dcraw (9.27): dcraw laments that there is 'no disk'. Again, the unmodified ...

Re: Piping from dcraw to ImageMagick?

Yes, this does the trick! But, as far as I see, only with the original version of dcraw. If I use IM's modified version (which has the additional option -O) instead, IM reports that it cannot read the input file: magick: improper image header `C:/Users/Hugemann/AppData/Local/Temp/magick-1824039DJfQo...

Piping from dcraw to ImageMagick?

I am using a Windows appliction that calculates luminance from RAW images taken by a calibrated camera. This application allows me to define two command lines that convert the original photo into an 8-bit-TIFF for display on the monitor and a 16-bit-TIFF for evaluation of the luminance. The default ...
