Re: converting cmyk tif with background transparency to rgb tiff

How would I modify this command to account for when a tiff has multiple layers? convert -quiet -respect-parenthesis Original.tif \ \( -clone 0 -evaluate set 0 \) \ \( -clone 1 -alpha extract \) \ \( -clone 2 -clone 3 -layers merge +repage \) \ -delete 2,3 \ \( -clone 0 +profile tiff:37724 -alpha of...

Re: converting cmyk tif with background transparency to rgb tiff

Interesting. Inspired from magick's suggestion, my current solution would be:

Code: Select all

convert -quiet Original.tif psd:- | convert - -gravity center -compose CopyOpacity -composite +profile xmp +profile tiff:37724 -profile sRGB.icc o.tif
Then It becomes to standard tiff.

Re: possible bug converting CMYK tiff to RGB tiff

I had tried +profile "xmp" and +profile "tiff", but neither of them worked. So the problem is in the photoshop data, which has no profile listed in the file. I do not know where that data is stored, but -strip or +profile "*" does get rid of it. +profile "tiff" does nothing. You have to select from...

Re: converting cmyk tif with background transparency to rgb tiff

OK I'd like to know if this work in your environment, because you said "it doesn't work" without any quote. see http://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28259&start=15#p125405 I did not say that worked. I only said that can strip xmp metadata. There is no PSD in this topic. Ye...

Re: converting cmyk tif with background transparency to rgb tiff

My point is that only PS shows the transparency. That is a problem, if other viewers including IM do not show the transparency. That is why this is an IM bug. I know there exists such tif. But I don't think it can be said it is definitely IM bug at least for display. Because it is not a tiff standa...

Re: possible bug extracting the transparency from CMYK TIFF

Try convert Original.tif image.miff display image.miff The second image is transparent. Is that what you are looking for? Surprised this works. (display image.miff[1] shows background transparent image.) But then, why identify -quiet Original.tif[1] doesn't work? (no output) Or > convert -quiet Ori...

Re: converting cmyk tif with background transparency to rgb tiff

This command: convert Original.tif[0] +profile "xmp" -profile /Users/fred/images/profiles/sRGB.icc Original_rgb2.tif In other viewers besides PS, it has the right colors, but no transparency. In PS, it has transparency but has orange color where it should be brown. What I wrote (to get correct imag...

Re: converting cmyk tif with background transparency to rgb tiff

As far as I tried only way to keep background transparency and keep the color during RGB conversion is: 1) convert tiff to psd with Photoshop or convert tiff to psd with ImageMagick and open in Photoshop and lock transparent pixels and save it. (About lock, related topic is here: http://www.imagemag...

This can be done with +profile tiff:37724, but background transparency (that is shown only in Photoshop) is lost.

Re: Avoid a color in a jpg

It still can not be your help, but it seems there is one way to exclude specific color, according to the document. libjpeg9 has new -wipe option for jpegtran. A complementary lossless-wipe option is provided to discard (gray out) data inside a given image region while losslessly preserving what is o...
