Aligning frames..
I have two images taken in quick succession.. however, they are off by a few pixels.. For some of the neat effects like animation, hdr, addition and subraction, I need to align the frame.. so, something like offset coordinates from one frame to the next. So, I'm wondering how that would be done? wou...

Re: Centering / Scaling images in animation
Ah, thanks, the -extent option was what I needed. gravity wasn't affecting anything otherwise.
thanks for all your help!

Centering / Scaling images in animation
I'm trying to animate a few images of different sizes and orientations. Say 100x50, 50x100, 30x30 I'm looking for an easy way to have them animate nicely, with images centered and scaled. Do I have to individually calculate the offset and resizes? or can I apply something like -gravity center. as it...

Re: color popping
Yeah, they don't exactly explain how the tech works.. I've tried the app with mixed results.
it seems like a pretty cool effect though, and I see a lot of these images online.. just wondering if their is an easier way to do this.

color popping
I saw this great new color plugin/app that helps "color pop" images. It seems to smartly identify the primary colors / objects in the image and lets you pic which ones are colored. It's even open source. http://www.indii.org/uploads/tintii-Dialog.jpg I'm wondering how I'd reproduce some of...

Re: Multi Process Contention?
fyi: downgrading the libgomp package has seem to rectify the problem.
Was using 4.3.2-7.el5
now using 4.1.2-42.el5
not sure what they change along the way, but it wasn't good for im.
going from 8 to 64 threads should not have that detrimental effect.

Re: Multi Process Contention?
I am having the same problem. ( http://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14051 ) It's not just 5.3 Centos, it's new installs of IM on older versions as well.. I think. I tried reinstalling 5.2 centos, then installing IM and the required associated packages, and still had t...

Re: High Load after server update.. CentOS 5.2 to 5.3
Hmm, this thread indicated problems with gcc-4.1.2 and openmp
http://www.nabble.com/GCC-and-OpenMP-td17220268.html
it's not easy to update the compiler though.

Re: High Load after server update.. CentOS 5.2 to 5.3
I've now seen the problem on 3 different servers. Two were core i7's, which generally run very fast, with 4 cores and 8 'threads' and the other was as q9400 I've also tried downgrading to centos5.2 and just updating the IM dependencies, and I still have the problem. My only theory is that it's somet...

Re: High Load after server update..
Well, I'd love to, but, this was my stable IM version. I always have trouble compiling the new versions.
Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with concurrency issues or whatnot with os updates.
I do appreciate the OpenMP.. so, I hope that's not fallen by the way side.

High Load after server update.. CentOS 5.2 to 5.3
Hi all, I'm seeing very high load on my server after server update (Centos 5 x86_64) today.. I haven't updated IM (ImageMagick 6.4.8-7 2009-01-22 Q16 OpenMP) (I'm running on a multi core machine) From the initial tests I've done, it seems that it has something to do with multiple convert operations ...
