SVG support on Mint ?

Post by bertrandb »

Hello everyone

I use the imageagick for a few years without any worries on the LAMP server but today, by developing on my personal computer, I encounter a problem and I can not find anything online. As you will see below, convert -list format does indicate rsvg in delegate but the SVG is not in the list of supported formats.
On the command line, convert image.svg image.png works fine, but if I use imagick I get an error message: "Uncaught ImagickException: no delegate to decode this image format 'SVG'". Unable to understand the problem. I removed the imagemagick package and reinstalled it, but nothing works. Would this be a bug? I would add that a second computer in the same version of Mint 18.1 has the same problem.

Thank you !

B.

PS : libxml2 and freetype2 are installed

Re: SVG support on Mint ?

Post by m@rtin.ws »

Nearly the same here:
I've installed Debian9 with PHP7.0. On the elder Mandriva under PHP5.4, everything was converted correctly, but if I want to convert under latest Debian:

$im->readImageBlob( '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>'.$sSvgSource);

php7.0 under apache2 (Debian 9) throws:

Fatal error: Uncaught ImagickException: no decode delegate for this image format `SVG' @ error/blob.c/BlobToImage/353 in...

No delegates are offered in reposority (the $sSvgSource is error-free).

Would be great, if you can fix this problem.

In the OP, the command line works fine. Does that also work for you? Does it use an delegate like Inkscape or internal like RSVG?

If the command line works with RSVG, then the problem is likely to be in IMagick. If the command line works with Inkscape, the problem is likely to be accessing Inkscape from PHP.
