convert from image to Postscript does gsave but not grestore

I'm using the following version: ImageMagick 6.7.2-7 2017-03-22 Q16 in CentOS 6.1, and when I convert an image to a Postscript file, there is a gsave in the ps code, but not a corresponding grestore. It works well until you remove the showpage instruction.
