Poor performance of 'annotate' and 'draw'

Try writing to Sample%d.miff instead. Lets see if the problem is Group4 compression or the image annotation.

IM was never designed with speed in mind, but with the ability to do complex operations.
This was a decision from the very eariest days of the program.
