imagemagick update breaks windowmaker

Post by hueypokerbrainz » 2019-11-10T03:27:57-07:00

I'm running Archlinux and upgraded to imagemagick version 7.0.9.2.
Now when I run startx to start my window manager (which is window maker), the X sessions begins, then ends, and I'm left with this message:

wmaker: error while loading shared libraries: libMagickWand-7.Q16HDRI.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I then have to downgrade to version 7.0.8.68 to get wmaker to work.

Don't know if this is an imageMagick problem, a window maker problem, or an Arch linux package problem, but I have to start somewhere.

Thanks for your help!

Version 7.0.9 had an SO version bump to 7. You can an a symbolic link from libMagickWand-7.Q16HDRI.so.7 to libMagickWand-7.Q16HDRI.so.6. That should resolve the problem.
