convert outputs multiple images

Post by anxietyandhtml »

When I use the command

Code: Select all

convert -depth 8 -size 3x1+0 -scale 3x3+0 rgb:image.jpg out.png
, the output is 10 files named out-0.png, out-2.png, and so on, upt to out-9.png. Is this expected behavior, or am I doing something wrong?

Why have your prefaced the reading of your JPG input with rgb:, which indicates a raw file. JPG is not a raw file. -size and -scale do not have +offsets. Why have you added +0 to those?

If you are simply reading a JPG, then

Code: Select all

convert image.jpg -scale 3x3 out.png
But that will make a 3x3 pixel result. Is that really what you want?

What is it that you are trying to do?
