You could post a URL to your image and the command you use to convert it. We'll see how long it takes for us and suggest speed improvements.

The only way to speed this process up is to use a different program or run it on a faster computer. ImageMagick uses Ghostscript to render PDF. We tried Ghostscript directly from the command line and it took even longer (16 seconds), whereas, with ImageMagick it took just under 11 seconds.
